In the southern part of Tajikistan there is an ancient place, which at one time received an unusual poetic name – Childukhtaron. Translated, the word means “Valley of the Forty Girls.” There is one legend that explains the meaning of these words.

According to ancient history, the 40 boulders represented, which are arranged one after the other, are 40 pretty girls who lived a carefree life. But when the cruel invaders came with the intention of making beautiful concubines, the girls began to pray to Allah for salvation.

The only salvation they saw turning into silent blocks of stone. From that moment the valley is considered an interesting sight of Tajikistan.
