Temurdara — A Natural Oasis of the Varzob District
Temurdara is one of the most popular recreation spots near Dushanbe, located in the picturesque gorge of the Varzob District. Its altitude is about 1,500–1,700 meters above sea level, which makes the climate cool and pleasant even during the summer heat.
Temurdara is situated only 35 km north of Dushanbe. The gorge is famous for its dense forests, fresh mountain air, clear rivers, and waterfalls. It is surrounded by the Gissar Mountains, whose slopes are covered with juniper and deciduous forests.
In summer, it is much cooler here than in the capital: the average temperature in July is +18…+22 °C, making Temurdara an ideal place for picnics and relaxation. In winter, the gorge is covered with snow and turns into a fairy-tale landscape.
